Services for Dorothy J. O'Rear, 71, of Amarillo were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 1989, in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Winfred Moore, pastor, officiating.

Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Monday in Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Golden of Lorenzo's First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial was under direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home of Amarillo.

She died Friday, Feb. 24, 1989, at her home. She had been under a doctor's care.

She was born in Mart and had lived in Lubbock for 41 years before moving to Amarillo. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Dental Auxiliary and South Plains Genealogical Society. Her husband, J.M. O'Rear, died in 1982.

Survivors include a son, Jerome of Amarillo; a brother, Garland L. Sharpless of Waco; two sisters, Ethna Hackett of San Diego and Frances Hunt of Lubbock; and four grandchildren.
