LORENZO - Our beloved Jose Navarro, 100, passed away May 15, 2003, in Austin. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at San Lorenzo Catholic Church with the Rev. Roland Buxkemper officiating. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the same church. Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo.He was born Nov. 16, 1902, in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florencia Navarro; a daughter, Rosa Lopez; a son, Diego Navarro; and a granddaughter, Elaine Lopez.
He is survived by his wife Elena Navarro of Lubbock; children, Caroline and Charlie Leyendecker, Julia Esparza, Emilia and Lupe Salgado of Austin, Joe Jr. and Rose Navarro of Keller, and Arthur and Mona Navarro of Springtown; stepchildren, Victor Montalvo of Lubbock, Jose and Jesus Montalvo of Richmond, Va., Maria E. Vega, Juana Zamora, and Lupe Montalvo, all of Lubbock; 32 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
