Rosary for Elena Navarro, 84, of Lubbock will be at 7:30 Thursday, March 27, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lubbock. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday March 28, 2008 at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo with Rev. Roland Buxkemper officiating. Burial will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Elena passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at her home in Lubbock.
She was born August 18, 1923 in Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico to Manuel and Francisca Vasquez. Her husband Jose Navarro preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock and San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo.
She is preceded in death by two sons; Luis Montalvo and Oscar Montalvo, two daughters; Amparito and Rosemary two brothers; Manuel Vasquez and Juan Vasquez and a sister Celestina Vasquez.
Survivors include, three sons; Victor Montalvo of Lubbock, Jose Montalvo and Jesus Montalvo both of Richmond, VA, three daughters; Maria "Lupe" Montalvo, Maria Elena Vega both of Lubbock, Juana Zamora of San Antonio, Texas, three brothers; Concepcion Vasquez, Hipolito Vasquez and Eladio Vasquez all of Mexico, six stepchildren, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were: Christopher Galloway, Jose Montalvo, Victor Montalvo, Jesus Montalvo, Paul Vega and Eduardo Montalvo.
