Obituary

LORENZO (Special) Services for Leon Moore, 69, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Boles officiating and the Rev. Dennis Williams assisting.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

He died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Aug. 29, 1930, in the Robertson community.

He married Mauna Porter on Dec. 31, 1948, in Petersburg.

He was a member of Lorenzo First United Methodist Church. He helped organize and was a member of the Lorenzo EMS.

He served as Lorenzo city administrator from 1972 to 1991. He lived in the Lorenzo area all his life.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, LaMauna Klafka of Levelland and MeLinda Moore of Crosbyton; and six grandchildren.

Services for Mauna Moore, 77, of Lorenzo were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 20, 2007 in the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kelly Inman and Rustin Klafka officiating. Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. Mauna passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at her home in Lorenzo.

She was born June 15, 1929 in Ralls to the late Hilton L., Sr. and Nettie Mae (Wilson) Porter. On December 31, 1948 she married Leon Moore in Petersburg. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2000. She was a member of the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church. Mauna graduated from Ralls High School in 1946 and worked for Lorenzo State Bank for several years before going to work for the City of Lorenzo as city secretary from which she retired. She had lived in the Lorenzo area all her life.

Survivors include; two daughters; LaMauna Klafka and husband Larry of Lubbock Melinda Sistos and husband Ramiro of Lorenzo, a brother H. L. Porter, Jr. of Petersburg, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren and two on the way.
