LORENZO (Special) - Services for Selman G. Mercer, 71, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, and the Rev. Sidney Parsley, pastor of First United Methodist Church here both officiating.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

He died at 2:40 p.m. Monday at Lubbock Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.

The Seymour native was in the automotive parts and butane business. He married Stella Scroggins Dec. 27, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nev. He moved to Lorenzo in 1937 from Floyd County. He was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Billye Duncan of Las Vegas, Nev.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Joe Anderson of Lubbock, Mrs. E. M. Cate Jr. of Shallowater and Mrs. Frank Cobb of Tyler; a stepson, James Mankins of Lorenzo; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
