Services for Manuel Mendoza, 77, of Lorenzo will be held Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Iglesia Bautista Jerusalem in Lorenzo with Rev. Raul Cabellero officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 Pm Saturday and at 5:00 PM Sunday at the same church.
Mr. Mendoza passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born October 7, 1932 in Bagwell, (Red River County), Texas to the late Florentino and Rosalia (Vallejo) Mendoza. He married Dominga Loelo August 6, 1955 in Slaton, Texas.
He moved to Lorenzo in 1955 from Cameron and was a farmer and a member of the Iglesia Bautista Jerusalem Church in Lorenzo.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie and Carlos Mendosa and a sister Carmen Sanchez.
Survivors include his wife, Dominga Mendoza of Lorenzo, five sons, Manuel Mendoza, Jr. and Reuben Mendoza, both of Lubbock and Rudy Mendoza, Rosendo Mendoza and Rojellio Mendoza, all of Lorenzo, two daughters, Ester Rojas of Lorenzo and Sandy Mendoza of Lubbock, one sister, Maggie Mendoza of Salem Oregon, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
