Rosary for Senayda Mendoza, 78, of Lorenzo was held at 7:00 pm, Friday, August 20, 2004 at the San Lorenzo Catholic Church. Mass was celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 21, 2004 at the same church with the Rev. Roland Buxkemper officiating. Burial was held in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
She died Wednesday, August 18, 2004 in Lubbock.
She was born May 26, 1926 in Atascosa County, Texas to Victor and Maria Refugia Correa Briseno. She married Cruz Mendoza on August 21, 1946 in Lorenzo.
She moved to the Crosby County area in 1936. She was a member of the San Lorenzo Catholic Church where she was in the Guadalupanas Society and the Cursillistas. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by two brothers; Mike and Eloy Briseno and a sister Felipa Martinez. Survivors include her husband; Cruz of Lorenzo, five sons; Tony and Albert of Lorenzo, Arthur of Austin, Cruz, Jr. of Seattle, WA, Ruben of El Paso, five daughters; Irene Lopez and Dina Sifuentes both of Petersburg, Rachel Paredez and Mary Gonzalez both of Lubbock, Nadine Martinez of Lorenzo, three sisters; Aurora Martinez of Abilene, Erlinda Trujillo of Othello, WA, Antonia Delgado of Idalou, 30 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Services for Cruz Mendoza, 86, of Lorenzo will be at 2 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Rosary services will be held Sunday, February 12, and Monday, February 13 at 7pm at the same church. Interment will be held at the Lorenzo Cemetery. Services are under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Mr. Mendoza passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was born to Pablo and Antonia Mendoza on May 3, 1925 in San Marcos, TX. He married Senayda Briseno on August 21, 1946 in Lorenzo, TX. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2004. Mr. Mendoza was a farmer, and a Charter member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church. He was also active in the Sacred Heart Society and a Cursillista.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and sister.
He is survived by his five sons, Tony (Susie), Albert (Gloria) of Lorenzo, Arthur (Frances) of Lubbock, Cruz Jr. (Sonja) of Seattle WA, Ruben (Dolores) of Horizon City TX, five daughters, Irene Lopez of Petersburg, Rachel (John) Paredez of Lubbock, Nadine (Juan) Martinez, Mary Gonzalez, Dina (Paul) Sifuentes all of Lorenzo, two brothers, Pablo Perez of Lubbock and Lalo Perez of Edinburgh, 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and one great- great grandson. The family wishes to thank Odyssey Hospice for their care. "Ama put supper on the table Apa is home."
Serving as pallbearers will be Juan Jose Martinez, Devon Cruz Mendez, Jesse Sifuentes, David Cruz Mendoza, D.J. Lopez and Abraham Cruz Mendoza.
