LORENZO (Special) - Services for Jewel Elizabeth Melton, 76, of Lorenzo will be at 5 p.m. today at Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Sidney Parsley, pastor of Lorenzo First United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at Lubbock Colonial Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

The Leonard native moved to Lorenzo 32 years ago. She married Frank Polasek March 16, 1921, in Caddo, Okla. He died in Dec. 6, 1961. She married Floyd Lee Melton April 3, 1964, in Clovis, N.M. Melton died May 20, 1981.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary Gestes of Plainview, Mrs. Barbara Bell of Creede, Colo., and Mrs. Alice Barron of Irving; five sons, Ozie and Bill Polasek, both of Levelland, Paul Polasek of Dumas, and Charles and Houston Polasek, both of Abilene; two brothers, Elmer Kennedy of Memphis and Joe Kennedy of Amarillo; a sister, Ola Masters of California; 215 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
