LORENZO (Special) — Services for Floyd L. Melton, 72, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.. today at Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Melton died about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.

The Paxton native was a former pipeline worker and also a former employee of Crosbyton Clinic Hospital and the Lorenzo school system. He moved to Lorenzo 20 years ago. He married Jewel Polasek April 3, 1964, in Clovis, N.M. Melton was a member of First Baptist Church in Lorenzo.

Survivors include his wife; five step-sons, Ozie and Bill Polasek, both of Levelland, Paul Polasek of Dumas and Charles and Houston Polasek, both of Abilene; three stepdaughters, Mary Justice of Plainview, Barbara Bell of Creede, Colo., and Alice Barron of Irving; two brothers, Price and Johnny, both of Tenaha; a sister, Wilma Mulligan of Missouri; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
