Rosary for Gregorio Medellin Sr., 55, of Lubbock was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 11, 1990, in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Mar. 12, 1990, San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo with the Rev. Jim O'Conner, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, officiating.
Burial was in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Wilson's Funeral Directors.
He died at 2:50 a.m. Friday in University Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Hargill. He married Maria Elisa Chavarria on June 11, 1953, in Hereford. She died in 1983. He was a member of Guadalupe Catholic Church, San Lorenzo Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Society
Survivors include two sons, Benito Christobal and Regorio Jr., both of Lubbock; five daughters, Guadalupe Medellin Vasquez, Dolores Branch, Maria Anita Medellin and Selia Rita Medellin, all of Lubbock, and San Juanita Laura of San Angelo; a brother, Adolph of Houston; a sister, Benita Medellin of Monterrey, Mexico; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the Sacred Heart Society.
