LORENZO - Rosary for Pedro Perez "Pete" Mayorga, 91, of Lorenzo will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the same church with Father David Cruz officiating. Burial will follow in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church. Mr. Mayorga died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at his home in Lorenzo.
He was born April 26, 1913, in Waelder, Texas, to Estanislao and Maria Ana (Perez) Mayorga. On Oct. 26, 1946, he married Bernarda Salaz in Lubbock. He was a member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church, Cursillistas, Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, San Luis Gonzaga Association, the Knights of Columbus and Woodmen of the World. He was a farm foreman for Marvin Pair Farms for many years before his retirement. He moved to Lorenzo in 1954. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife; nine children, Guadalupe Mendez and Cecilia Velasquez, both of Houston, Modesto Mayorga of Wiemer, Daniel Mayorga of Dade City, Fla., Andrew Mayorga, Marcos Antonio Mayorga and Estanislao Mayorga III, all of Lorenzo, Maria Dolores Reid and Edwardo Mayorga, both of Lubbock; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
