Last Rites Held Here for Mrs. Marlar

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Luann Marlar, 81, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 20, 1964) in the First Methodist Church.

Officiating was Rev. U. S. Sherrill of Abernathy, a former minister here, assisted by Rev. Bruce Parks, Lorenzo Methodist minister, and Rev. D.L. Lowrie, pastor of Lorenzo Baptist church.

Mrs. Marlar, a resident of Lorenzo since 1935, died Saturday (Jan. 18, 1964) at Methodist Hospital, Lubbock. A native of Ben Lomond, Ark., (born Oct. 20, 1882) Mrs Marlar had lived at Mclean and Dimmitt before moving here.

Survivors include five sons, Paul Marlar and Cody Marlar both of Lorenzo, Tommie Marlar, San Antonio, Venoie Marlar, Jal, N.M., and Hal Marlar, San Antonio; three daughters, Miss Bonnie Ruth Marlar, Lorenzo, Mrs. Wiley (Ruby) Smith of Andrews, and Mrs. Claudia Cox, Alpine; three brothers, L.E. Beck, San Antonio, Rob Beck, Ashdown, Ark., and Lowrey Beck, Sheridan, Ark.; 24 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
