LORENZO (Special) - Services for Rubye P. Mapes, 71, of Lorenzo will be at 4 p.m. today in Carter-Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Travis Boyd of Lorenzo Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday in West Texas Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 13, 1912, in Carbon. She married F. E. "Jack" Mapes June 18, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge of Morton, and the Baptist Church. She moved to Lorenzo in 1960 from Morton.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Earnest L. and Travis L. both of Lubbock; a step-son, J.G. Mapes of Baytown; three sisters, Christine Hodnett of Three Way, Jo Ann Stanford of Odessa and Jane Sechrist of Ralls; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
