LORENZO (Special) - Services for Leona Mackey, 84, of Lorenzo were held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 6, 1997, in the Lorenzo Church of Christ with Joseph Johnston, minister, and Jammie Paden, assistant minister of Sunrise Church of Christ in Lubbock, officiating.

Burial followed in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Mrs. Mackey died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, in Lubbock's Horizon Specialty Hospital following an illness.

She was born Sept. 19, 1913, in Coryell County, TX, and married Lee Mackey on Aug. 20, 1944 in Lorenzo. He preceded her in death in June 1964. She was a homemaker. and a member of the Church of Christ. She moved to Lorenzo in 1937 from Coryell County, TX.

Survivors include two sons, Ernest Rector of Lubbock and Ronnie Lee Mackey of Lake Buchanan; a stepson, Roy Leon Mackey of Big Spring; a daughter, Barbara Sue Newsome of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chris Rhodes, Walter Brown, Jim Norris, Walt Norris, Buck Craig, and Don Nickson.
