Hampton Loftis

LORENZO (Special) Service for Hampton P. Loftis, a South Plains farmer for 27 years, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church here.

Loftis died Friday in Ada, Okla., where he moved in 1952. Born Jan. 30, 1885, in Cherry Hill, Ark., he moved to the South Plains in 1925 and resided here until moving to Ada.

Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Earl Landtroope, of Clovis, N.M., former pastor of the First Baptist Church here.

Interment will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery, under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Ralls.

Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Lois Loftis, Ada; four sons, M. F. Loftis, a schoolteacher at Ralls, Pier Loftis, of Cashmere, Wash.; Arnold Loftis of Modesto, Calif., and Lon Loftis of Orangeville, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Cunningham, Texarkana, Tex.; two brothers, Mark Loftis, Pauls Valley, Okla., and Hugh Loftis, Stewart, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. E. L. Garrett, Colgate, Okla., and a number of grandchildren
