Lalla Lay

LORENZO (Special) - Graveside services for Lalla Annette Lay, 90, of Lorenzo will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home of Austin.

She was born June 11, 1908, in Hereford. She moved to Lorenzo in 1912, and she graduated from North Texas State University. She taught in the Dickens school system from 1932 to 1934, and she moved to Austin in 1935. She taught from 1935 to 1944 and from 1958 to 1973. She produced designer/specialty toys and furniture in Lorenzo. She taught arts and crafts at Johnston High School until retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a niece, Frances Lay Terrell of Lorenzo.
