Services for Harry "Ted" Hoople, 91, of Lorenzo were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 1998, in the Lorenzo Church of Christ with Joseph Johnston, officiating.

Burial followed in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 10: 45 a.m. Friday, May 29, 1998, at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

He was born March 3, 1907, in Estacado, TX, and married Bessie Lee Grice on June 18, 1950, in Robertson, TX. She preceded him in death on Aug. 11, 1989. He was a rural mail carrier. He was a member of the Lorenzo Church of Christ, a 50 year member of the Lorenzo Masonic Lodge, and he was a lifelong Crosby County resident. He also served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Texas Rural Letter Carrier Association.

He was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Woods.

Survivors include three sons, Harry B. Hoople, Jr., of Rocksprings, Gary Woods of Mabank and Bill Woods of Lewisville; two daughters, Shirley Moore of Lorenzo, and Mary Smith of Laurinburg, NC; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
