Richard Dwayne Grimes 50 of Idalou passed away Saturday September 21, 2013 at his residence. Services will be 2:00p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Canyon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Rienbolt officiating, and Rev. Larry Gomound assisting. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. A visitation will be held from 6:00p.m till 7:00 p.m. Thursday September 26, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo.
Richard was born April 25, 1963 in Lubbock Texas. He worked as a store manager for Wal-Mart, Dollar General Store, and Stripes. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and was the ultimate Cowboy fan through good times and bad. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody.
Richard is survived by a daughter; Jessica Grimes of Belleview Washington, a son Justin Grimes and wife Katrina of Anchorage, Alaska. His parents; Carole Kelley of Idalou and Dwayne Grimes and wife Kelly of Sulphur Springs. Three sisters; Dianna Hill Dunlap and husband Joe of Lubbock, Ren�e Grimes Stanley and husband Jay of Lakewood Village and Kerry Grimes of Dallas; one brother John Herrera of Floydada; a granddaughter Ella Grimes; nephews Jason Herrera, Ryan Hill and two nieces Cassie Herrera and husband Paul, and Shami Aiwase He also leaves behind two great nephews, one great niece and his cat and loyal companion Abel.Obituary courtesy of: Adams Funeral Home
