Funeral services for Ramona Garza, 81, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2006 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels with Pastor Paul Cortez officiating. Evening service will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be at Lorenzo cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
She died on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at home.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1924 in Devine, Texas to Marcos and San Juana Garza; they preceded her in death along with a brother, Miguel Garza and a sister, Maria Uballe. She moved to Lubbock in 1974 and worked at Chandlers Cafe and retired in 1997. She raised and loved her son Miguel Garza Jr. and daughter Josie Cortez and husband Paul Cortez.; one brother, Reyes Garza of Greeley, Co.; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
