LORENZO (Special) - Services for the Rev. Peyton D. Fullingim, 73, of Lorenzo will be at 3 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Bill Lacey, pastor, the Rev. LaVern Laing of Brownfield, and the Rev. Robert Wells, director of Contact Lubbock, officiating.Masonic graveside services will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Home.
Fullingim died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday in West Texas Hospital after a long illness.
He was a native of Lubbock County, born in the Estacado community. His family moved to Lorenzo in 1922. Fullingim served in the U. S. Army in Hawaii from 1923-25.
He married the former Leo McKinley on July 4, 1925, in Lubbock. He was a graduate of Howard Payne University and began his Baptist ministry in 1935. Fullingim served as the pastor of Baptist churches in Sonora, Mathis, Quitaque, Wheeler, Cuero, Borger and Corpus Christi.
He served as the pastor of Plains Baptist Church in Lubbock for more than 10 years until his retirement in 1971. Fullingim was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, J. Worth of Lubbock, Wendell of Lorenzo and Dwight of Houston; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Sam Ellis, Kenneth Davies, Earnest Thornton, Lyle Hollon, Hoyt Rice, Robert Ebbins, John Gillispie, Lonnie Young and Ray McDaniel.

LORENZO (Special) - Services for Leo Fullingim, 89, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Lorenzo with the Rev. L. E. Lang, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church of Brownfield, officiating.Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
She died Sunday, Dec. 24, 1995, at Quaker Villa Nursing Home in Lubbock.
She was born Dec. 27, 1905, in Hereford. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1924, where she was a star forward on the girls basketball team. She married Peyton Dupree Fullingim in 1925 in Lubbock. He died in 1979. She served in many Baptist churches as Sunday school teacher, pianist and organist.
Survivors include three sons, J. Worth of Lubbock, Dwight B. of Saudi Arabia and Wendell B. of Lorenzo; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
