Funeral services for Tom Fondren 84, of Lorenzo were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Wayne Perry of Lubbock.Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday in Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 21, 1898, in Erath County, he married Gladys Hooks, Feb. 19, 1928 in Lubbock. He moved from Lamesa to Estacado in 1925 and to Lorenzo in 1979.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy of Lorenzo; a brother, Troy of Downey, Calif.; two sisters, Lessie Lee of Seymour and Faye Harmon of Idalou; and a granddaughter.
