LORENZO (Special) - Services for Gladys Irene Hooks Fondren, 86, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. today in Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Revs. Rick McGee, pastor, and Don Boren, pastor of Lorenzo First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Fondren died Friday, June 10, 1994, in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1907, in Columbia County, Ark. She married Tom T. Fondren on Feb. 19, 1928, in Lubbock. He died on Sept. 24, 1983. They operated the Estacado Store, and they moved to Lorenzo in 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of Lorenzo First Baptist Church and the Lorenzo Senior Citizens. A son, Bobby Joe, died on May 27, 1950.

Survivors include a son, Tommy of Lorenzo, and a granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Board, Buster Bryant, Clyde Crump, Sam Kelsey, Harold Campbell and David Simmons.
