LORENZO (Special) - Services for Tomasa Fernandez, 64, of Lorenzo will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo, with the Rev. Sean Sweeney, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Harold Waldow of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Ralls.The East Texas native died Sunday morning in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following a sudden illness.
She moved to Lorenzo in 1956 from San Antonio. She operated a grocery store in Lorenzo. She married Jessie Fernandez Sr. in Centerville on March 19, 1932. He died Jan. 27, 1972.
Survivors include nine sons, Alfred, Joe, Richard and George, all of San Antonio, Jessie Jr. and Paul, both of Gary, Ind., Bennito and Raul, both of Lorenzo and Joe Martinez of Lubbock; six daughters, Celia Fernandez, Amelia Guererro, Maria Hernandez and Dalia Garcia, all of San Antonio, and Oralia Soto and Mary Lou Gujardo, both of Waco; two brothers, Jose Angel Sanchez of Baytown and Michael Hernandez of Waco; a sister, Enriqueta Bernal of Waco; 58 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sons will serve as pallbearers.
