Jessie Fernandez Services Held
Jessie Fernandez, 62, a Lorenzo grocery store owner, died about 1 a.m. Thursday in Methodist Hospital at Lubbock following a 10 -day illness.Funeral services were held Saturday in the Lorenzo Catholic Church. Burial was in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home in Ralls.
Fernandez had been a resident of Lorenzo since 1956, moving here from San Antonio. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors are the wife, Tomasa; seven sons, Alfred, Joe, Richard, and Jessie Jr., all of San Antonio, Benito of Pontiac, Mich., Raul and Paul, both of Lorenzo; four daughters, Celia and Mrs. Amalia Guererro, both of San Antonio, Mrs. Maria Hernandez of Lorenzo and Dalia of the home; a stepson, Joe Martinez of San Antonio; two step-daughters, Mrs. Oralia Soto of Memphis, Ark., and Mrs. Mary Lou Gujaro of Waco; five brothers and 25 grandchildren.
Fernandez´ sons served as pallbearers.
