Eliazar "Eli" Elizondo, 30, of Lorenzo was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 4 at White River Lake near Crosbyton by Justice of the Peace Clyde Davis of Ralls, who ruled the death an accidental drowning.

Services for Elizondo were held at 10 p.m. Wednesday in the San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo with the Reverend Aidan Maguire, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Monday night, September 5 in the same church.

He was born August 16, 1958 in Pearsall, Texas and married Rita Salazar on November 7, 1975 in Crosbyton.

Eli was employed as a mechanic at Lorenzo Textile Mill. He had lived most of his life in Crosby County and in Lorenzo the last 3 years.

Survivors include his wife, Rita of Lorenzo; 2 sons, Jeremiah and Bo Javier and 1 daughter, Pearl, all of Lorenzo; His parents, Cleto and Fiedela Elizondo of New Braunfels, Texas; 5 brothers; Raul, Fermin, Norberto, Noe and Abel, all of New Braunfels, Texas; 5 sisters, Ninfa Villarreal of Ralls, Leticia Martinez of Lubbock, Irene Medina, Velma Elizondo and Veronica Elizondo, all of New Braunfels.

Pallbearers were Raul Elizondo, Fermin Elizondo, Norberto Elizondo, Noe Elizondo, David Landin and Chris B. Lesley.
