Sarah Jane Sales Dycus, 85, of Lubbock and formerly of Lorenzo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 20, 2013 in Lubbock. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Sarah was born July 21, 1927 in Robertson, Texas to John W. and Laura Ethel (Routt) Sales. She met the love of her life, J.C. �Bug� Dycus while working at the Cotton Gin in Lorenzo and they married on January 30, 1951 in Lorenzo Texas. Sarah spent most of her life living in and around Lorenzo. She spent a large portion of her life being a Mom and raising her children. In her spare time she attended every Lady Raider basketball home game. She also loved to watch all different sports events on TV, and sitting back and listening to anyone play the piano. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and always ready to meet new people with a huge smile on her face.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, Dan Sales, Jim Sales, Harold Rhew, Jack Rhew, A.J. Sales, and John D. Sales, 3 sisters, Fara Malone, Frances Reynolds and Laura Jean Blevins.

Sarah Jane is survived by her husband �Bug� of Lubbock, a son Drew and his wife Patti Dycus of Ralls, a daughter Diane Dycus and her life partner Liz Parke of Lubbock, a brother, Billy Reeves Sales of Wolfforth, an adopted daughter Kay McClellan of Centerville, TX, a granddaughter Amanda Hadderton and great granddaughter Natalie Grace Dycus of Ralls.

There will be a visitation Wednesday May 22, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo.

Jessie �Bug� Dycus Jr., 87, of Lubbock passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014. Bug was born June 25, 1926, in Tillman Co. Oklahoma to J.C. Sr and Margaret Dycus. He met the love of his life, Sarah Jane and they were married January 30, 1951, in Lorenzo, Texas. Bug was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army. He was a Mason for 62 years and a Charter member of South Plains Daylight Lodge Lubbock #1443. He was a Past Master of Armstrong Lodge #444 and Past Patron of order of Eastern Star Chapter 693. Bug was also a member of Lubbock Scottish Rite and member of the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo and most recently attended Forrest Heights Methodist Lubbock.

Bug was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Jane Dycus on May 20, 2013.

He is survived by his daughter Diane Dycus and life partner Liz Parke of Lubbock, TX; son Drew Dycus & wife Patti of Ralls, TX.; an adopted daughter Kay McClellan of Centerville, TX; one granddaughter Amanda Hadderton; and one great granddaughter Natalie Grace Dycus.

Services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo with Rev. Gerre Joiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. A visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Lorenzo Cemetery Association.
