LORENZO (Special)- Rosary for Porfirio DeLeon, 70, of Lorenzo will be recited at 7 p.m. today in San Lorenzo Catholic Church with the Rev. Aidan Maguire, pastor, officiating.

Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Friday in the same church with the same officiant.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

He died Tuesday evening in Lubbock General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Waco. He married Antonia Reyna on July 25, 1987, in Lorenzo. He was a retired farmer and a member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; eight sons, Victor, Juan, Ernesto and Robert, all of Abernathy, Phillip of Lubbock, and Porfirio Jr., Mark and Manuel, all of Lorenzo; eight daughters, Frances Garza of Plainview, Gloria Zavala of Idalou; Janie Paz of Abernathy, and Nancey DeLeon, Dorothy DeLeon, Brenda Lee DeLeon, Camelia DeLeon and Carolina DeLeon, all of Lorenzo; a brother, Elie of Waco; a sister, Lena Durtea of Temple; and 26 grandchildren.
