Services for Manuel Chavez, 75, of Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 1995, in St. Joseph´s Catholic Church with the Rev. Cornelio Ramirez officiating.
Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels of Lubbock.
Chavez died Wednesday, June 21, 1995, a his residence.
He was born Nov. 16, 1919, in San Marcos. He married Nicolasa Chavez on Dec. 12, 1938, in Cameron. He was a member of St. Joseph´s Catholic Church.
He worked for South Plains Mall maintenance. A daughter, Margaret Ramirez, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Linda Chavez, Virginia Gauna and Juanita Mendez, all of Lubbock; two brothers, Joe and Julian, both of Lorenzo, two sisters, Juanita Losoye and Victoria Macas, both of Lorenzo; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Martin Gauna, Peter Chavez, Ricky Chavez, Jonah Mendez, Gabriel Tarango and Fabian Torrez.

Rosary for Maria Nicholasa Chavez, 77, of Lubbock will be at 7 p.m. today in Guajardo Funeral Chapels.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael O´Dwyer officiating.
Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery.
She died Thursday, June 25, 1998, in St. Mary Hospital.
She was born Aug. 25, 1920, in San Marcos. She married Manuel Chavez on Dec. 5, 1938, in Cameron. He died June 21, 1995. A daughter, Margaret Ramirez, died Feb. 23, 1984.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Chavez, Virginia Gauna and Juanita Mendez, all of Lubbock; a brother, Juan Mojica of Cotton Center; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
