Obituary

LORENZO (Special) — Services for Nell D. Catching, 82, of Lorenzo, will be at 11 a.m. today in Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Elmore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died at 9 p.m. Wednesday in Lubbock Hospitality House after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Gonzales county. She married Joe Catching June 4, 1922 in Estacado. She was a housewife and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Garden Club and the bridge club. She was a former school teacher in Estacado. She moved to Lorenzo in 1922.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jo Ann Jones of Lorenzo; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Joe Warren Brown, Hop Boyd, Curtis Arnold, Don Nickson, Dip Fox, and Buddy Martin.

Funeral services for Joe Catching, 90, of Lorenzo will be held at 11:00 am. Wednesday at Lorenzo Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Elmore, pastor, and Dr. Jerry Golden, pastor of Lorenzo First Baptist Church, officiating.

Mr. Catching died at 1:45 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born April 25, 1894 in Magnolia, Ark. He married Nell Davis June 4, 1922 in Estacado. She preceded him in death July 18, 1984.

A veteran of World War I, he was owner and operator of a service station and operated Catchings Auto and Supply in Lorenzo for many years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, and a former member of Crosby County Sheriff´s Posse.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jo Ann Jones of Lorenzo; two granddaughters; Cindy Sisco of Lorenzo, and Sandy Murry of Dallas; one great granddaughter, Amanda Murry of Dallas.
