Obituary

Manuela CalzadaRosary for Manuela Guerrero Calzada, 74, of Lorenzo was at 7:00 PM, Friday, March 16, 2007 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church. Mass was celebrated at 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the same church with the Rev. Roland Buxkemper officiating. Burial followed in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

Manuela passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at her home in Lorenzo. She was born April 21, 1932 in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico to Daniel and Guadalupe (Garcia) Guerrero. In February of 1953 she married Pedro Barbosa Calzada in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico. Manuela was a homemaker and a member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church.

Survivors include; her husband Pedro of Lorenzo, three sons; Pedro Calzada of New Deal, Jesus and Fernando Calzada of Lorenzo, a daughter; Rosemary Calzada of Lorenzo, nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Pedro CalzadaMass for Pedro Calzada, 79, of Lorenzo will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo with Rev. Jose Kochuparambil officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. Rosary will be held at 8:00 PM Monday, October 18, 2010 at the same church.

Mr. Calzada passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Lubbock. He was born June 30, 1931 in Vicente Guerrero, Durango, Mexico to the late Matias and Senobia (Barbosa) Calzada. He married Manuela Guerrero in February of 1953 in Mexico. She preceded him in death March 14, 2007. A farmer, he moved to Lorenzo in 1956 from Mexico and was a member of the San Lorenzo Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by a son, Florencio "Rooster" Calzada in 1986. Survivors include three sons, Pedro Calzada and Jesus Calzada, both of Lorenzo and Fernando Calzada of Lubbock, one daughter, Rosa Maria Calzada of Lorenzo, one brother, Geronimo Calzada, two sisters, Cruz and Timotea, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
