Obituary

Funeral services for Earl A. Bowers, 73, of Conroe, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1992 at the Lake Conroe Church on the Rock with Rev. Sven Levin officiating.

Arrangements were handled by the Cashner Funeral Home of Conroe.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1992 at the Lorenzo Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Golden, pastor of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church, officiating.

Local arrangements were under the direction of the Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mr. Bowers died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 1992, in Doctors Hospital in Conroe following a lengthy illness.

He was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Lorenzo and married Shirley Wheeler Dec. 13, 1941.

He was a retired farmer and former resident of the Morton area for 35 years. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patti Hudson of Conroe and Pam Straub of Mt. Belvieu, TX; his mother, Beulah Bowers of Lorenzo; two sisters, Allene Samford of Lubbock and Billie Jo Bownds of Lorenzo; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

LORENZO (Special) — Graveside services for Shirley Bowers, 74, of Baytown will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Colwell, pastor of Ralls First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

She died Thursday, March 9, 1995, in a Baytown nursing home.

She was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Milner, ND. She married Earl Arthur Bowers on Dec. 13, 1941. He died Jan. 4, 1992. She was a Methodist.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Straub of Baytown and Pattie Hudson of Wichita Falls; a brother, Don Wheeler of Monterey, Calif.; a sister, Kathleen Hansen of Houston; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
