Graveside Rites Held For C.K. Wilmeth, 63

Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon June 26, at the Estacado cemetery for Carel K. Wilmeth, 63, of the New Home community north of Ralls. H. Hall, Church of Christ minister of Ralls, officiated.

Wilmeth died June 25, at Crosbyton Clinic hospital, following a lingering illness. He had been a patient at the hospital for about two weeks.

Born in Bell county on Jan. 23, 1886, Wilmeth came to Crosby county in 1912. He had acquired extensive farming and ranching interests in Crosby county and near Tokio, in Terry county.

The deceased was married here in 1914 to Miss Vera Walker, daughter of the late, Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Walker, pioneers of Crosby county.

He is survived by his wife; six sons, W.C., Elton, Alton, and Bill, all of Tokio, Mack and Thorne of Ralls; four daughters, Elnora of Houston, Bonnie, Jauanelle and Valley Sue of Ralls; his mother, Mrs. Edith Wilmeth of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. Del Turland of Hobbs, N.Mex., Mrs. Rila Malby of Reding, Calif., and Mrs. Gertrude Jones of Quemado, N.M.; two brothers, Mack Wilmeth of Sheridan and John Wilmeth of Ft. Worth, and one grandchild.

One sister, Mrs. Del Turland of Hobbs, N.M., was with her brother at the time of his passing.

Pallbearers were his sons. All children were present for the funeral services.
