PETERSBURG (Special) — Services for J. D. Fox, 69, of Petersburg will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Kunkle, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Waymon Swopes, pastor of First Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Estacado Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.

He died at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas after an illness.

He was born in Estacado and was reared there. He owned Fox Drilling Supply in Petersburg. He retired in 1965. He married Roxie Hildreth on May 30, 1936, in Plainview.

He was a member of the Petersburg Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge. He served on the Petersburg School Board. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Mac (Tylene) Heard of Gardner, Kan.; two sons, Troy and Jim, both of Petersburg; three brothers, Doc of Lubbock, Sam of Muleshoe and Dip of Lorenzo; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Tience) Bowron of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren.

Roxie Fox PETERSBURG — Services for Roxie Edith Fox, 86, of Petersburg will be at 2 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Petersburg with the Rev. Ted Wilson officiating and the Rev. Jesse Nave assisting.

Burial will be in Estacado Cemetery under the direction of White Funeral Home of Idalou.

She died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001.

She was born Oct. 21, 1915, in Byrdstown, Tenn. She married John Dillard "J.D." Fox on May 30, 1936, in Plainview. He died in February 1985. She graduated from Petersburg High School. A lifelong resident of Petersburg, she was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Petersburg.

Survivors include two sons, Troy and Jim, both of Petersburg; a daughter, Tylene Heard of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Jake Hildreth of Powell, Wyo., Tommy Hildreth and Charlie Hildreth, both of Petersburg; a sister, Louise Miller of Petersburg; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Petersburg Public Library, P.O. Box 65, Petersburg, TX 79250.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
