Peggy Jean was born in Borger, Hutchinson County, Texas to R. E. and Helen Womble. She was educated in the rural schools of Morris, Pringle and earned a bachelor�s degree from Texas Tech University. Peggy married Tommy Fondren in Lorenzo, where they lived for 54 years. She was a mother, homemaker, school teacher, parts runner, bookkeeper at a farm store, flying service, partner in managing a farm, active in Mother Cow Operation, and participated in many civic functions. Peggy also had a love for sewing.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Tommy Fondren, brothers and sisters, Donna Nell Smith, Betty Anderson, Louise Lyons, Kathy Womble, Dub Womble, Bill Womble and their families and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Leslye Fondren; mother and father, R. E. and Helen Womble.
