Obituary

Funeral services for Olin Bryant, 73, of Idalou were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Idalou First United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Price, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Larry Heard of Idalou.

Burial was in Estacado Cemetery in Estacado under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral home of Ralls.

Bryant died Monday in the Golden Age nursing Home in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Estacado and moved to Idalou in 1973 from Lubbock. He married Nell Smith in Cone on May 14, 1958. He was a retired farmer and rancher.

He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darlene Fulton of Floydada; a stepdaughter, Mrs. James Lancaster of Idalou; a son, Buckles Bryant of Idalou; a stepson, Wayland Smith of Mineral Wells; three brothers, J.N. of Hobbs, NM, and Robert and Buster both of Estacado; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Services for Vanell Corene Bryant, 70, of Idalou were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 1990 in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rusty Canoy, pastor, and the Rev. Steve Martyn, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was in Estacado Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She was born October 10, 1919 in Ira, Texas and married Olin Maurice Bryant May 14, 1958 in Cone, Texas. He preceded her in death July 26, 1982. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church and a Charter member of the Idalou Senior Citizens. She moved to Idalou in 1973 from Lubbock.

Survivors include two sons, Wayland Smith of Mineral Wells and Buckles Bryant of Idalou; a daughter, Wilma Jean "Sissy" Lancaster of Idalou; a brother, Elvis Bishop of Kerrville; six sisters, Pauline Clanton of Lubbock, Earlene Clanton of Big Springs, Lillian Alsup of Katy, Billie Lesly of Houston, Frances Waterbury and Peggy Morgan, both of Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
