Funeral services were held for Belle Brown, 80, of 1617 27th St. of Lubbock, were held at 11 am. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Lorenzo with the Rev. Jerry Klaverweiden, pastor, and the Rev. W. L. Armstrong, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Turkey, officiating.

Burial was in Estacado Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Miss Brown died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.

She was born near the Estacado community in Lubbock County. She was a member of a pioneer Lubbock and Crosby County family, and lived on the family farm near Estacado until 1947, when she moved to Lorenzo.

Miss Brown had been a Lubbock resident since 1968.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lubbock.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Dillard of Lubbock; two nephews, Evening Journal city editor Joe W. Brown and Walter Brown both of Lorenzo; and three nieces, Catherine Cathey of Abilene, Mary Beth Dodson of Lubbock and Martha Jo Brown of Idalou.
