Hugh Goggans, 65, Claimed by Death

U.S.Flag Funeral services for Hugh Goggans, 65, a pioneer resident of Crosby county, who passed away Tuesday night in a veterans hospital in Waco, were held at Ralls Church of Christ at 3 p.m., yesterday. Elder Charles W. Watkins of Lubbock officiated.

William Hugh Goggans was born at Rogers, Aug. 30, 1887. He moved to Crosby county with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John T. Goggans, in 1907. He was a veteran of World War I.

The body was brought by train to Lubbock. Burial was in Emma cemetery beside his mother, who passed away in 1935, and his father, who passed away in 1908. A brother, Neil Goggans, was buried there in October, 1949.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. L.D. France of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Mrs. C. Bish Travis of Ralls and Mrs. Clyde Heafner of Wellman; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were nephews: Bert Travis, C.B. Travis, jr., Ronald Travis, Otis Travis, Leon Travis and G.A. Lamberth.
