Atlantic Seraphine Swilling Chote was the daughter of James Monroe Swilling and Sopha Altheinda Duncan. Lonzo Ceamon Chote was the son of Ira Ellis Cote and Margaret Susan Fort.

Atlantic and Lonzo married 25 Nov 1877 in Revilee, Logan County, Arkansas. The following children were born to this union:
