Larry Yowell photoServices for Larry Yowell, 71, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 11, 2010 at the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Terry Ellison and Jim York officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Larry passed away on Thursday, Sep. 9, 2010 in Lubbock. He was born Oct. 20, 1938 in Sherman to Guy L. and Estelle (Benion) Yowell. On Aug. 19, 1960 he married Carol Nickson in Crosbyton.

Larry was a member of the Crosbyton Church of Christ where he served as a deacon, taught Bible school and lead singing. He was faithful to visit the Crosbyton Hospital patients every Sunday morning. A 1963 graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla., Larry owned and operated Nickson Pharmacy in Crosbyton from 1964 to 1992. He then worked for Albertsons and United pharmacies in Lubbock. For several years he was a member of the Crosbyton Lions Club and owned Yowell Photography.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of Crosbyton; a son and his wife, Lance and Kim Yowell of Keller; two daughters and their husbands, Virginia and Jerry Neely of Rhome and Becky and Jim Shock of Crosbyton; six grandchildren, Coltin Shock, Derek Neely, Rachael Neely, Kevin Neely, Kayla Yowell and Brooklyn Yowell; and a brother, Ken Yowell and wife Carol of Friendswood.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to White River Youth Camp, PO Box 455, Crosbyton, TX 79322 or Crosby County Senior Citizens, 119 N. Berkshire, Crosbyton, TX 79322.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.

Carol Nickson Yowell, 73, of Crosbyton passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 in Lubbock. Services will be on 2:00pm Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Crosbyton Church of Christ with Doug Sims and Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Carol was born on February 8, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas to the late Gerald Carter �Bill� Nickson and Rubye Collier. She married Larry Yowell on August 19, 1960 in Crosbyton, Texas. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. Larry preceded her in death on September 9, 2010. Carol was a member of the Crosbyton Church of Christ and was a teller at Citizens National Bank, retiring after 32 years of service. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens Center. She was very proud of her town and was always willing to serve her community with love, food, and friendship.

She is survived by daughters Virginia Neely and husband Jerry of Rhome, Becky Shock and husband Jim of Crosbyton, and son Lance Yowell and wife Kim of Keller. Her grandchildren include, Coltin Shock, Derek Neely, Rachael Neely, Kevin Neely, Kayla Yowell, and Brooklyn Yowell, one brother, Don Nickson of Crosbyton and Aunt, Polly Davies of Arizona. The family would like to thank the staff of Reeves-Rhoades retirement home of Crosbyton for going the extra mile for Mom and for the continual loving care she constantly received.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Crosby County Senior Citizens Center 119 N Berkshire Crosbyton, TX 79322.
