Obituary
Evelyn Work, a Crosbyton resident 17 years before moving to Austin in 1977, was claimed by death Friday afternoon in Shoal Creek Hospital in Austin following a prolonged illness. She was 82.Memorial services were at 4 p.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Crosbyton. The Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiated.
Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 4, 1898 in Mill Creek, Tenn., the former Sarah Evelyn Lemonds was a lifelong resident of Tennessee before moving to Crosbyton in 1960 from Whitlock, Tenn. She made her home here form 1960 until 1977.
She was married Dec. 19, 1919 to Ira B. Work in Tennessee. Mr. Work died here May 20, 1967.
Mrs. Work was a member of First Baptist Church in Crosbyton.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Joy) Webb of Austin and Mrs. Jim (Margie) Holman of Trenton, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. H. (Ruth) Work of Crosbyton; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
