Obituary
Funeral rites for Hugh Willingham of Lubbock and formerly of Crosbyton were at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. Jim York, minister of the church of Christ, officiated
Willingham, 60, entered Community Hospital in Lubbock late Thursday night and was claimed by death at 7:30 p.m. Friday. He had been hospitalized about two weeks earlier.
He owned and operated Willingham Plumbing and Ma and Pa Day Care Center in Lubbock. He was engaged in farming in Petersburg.
Born Oct. 2, 1923, in Cottle County, Willingham moved to Crosbyton in 1965 and to Lubbock nine years ago from Crosbyton. He also formerly resided in Lamesa.
Willingham and the former Alma Jean Stewart were married for 26 years before her Dec. 1, 1971, death. He married Leona Smith on April 23 1972, in Clovis, NM.
A member of the Baptist Church, he was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife; Leona; one daughter, Sharon Kay McNeill of Lubbock; two stepdaughters, Dana Sue Annis of Abernathy and Anna Marie Smith of Odessa; one stepson, Rickey Lynn Smith, Idalou; one brother, Euell Willingham of Duncan, Okla; three sisters, Lera Raper of Maysville, Okla., Mildred Toomer of Fort Worth and Mammie Roberts of Paducah; and six grandchildren.
