Services for Bobby Lee Williams, Sr., 45, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, in Mount Zion Baptist Church of Crosbyton with the Rev. H.L. Phillips officiating.Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral home.
Williams died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born Jan. 6, 1953, in Crosbyton. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He received a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 1 and the Overseas Service Ribbon. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Survivors include his parents, L.D. Sr., and Dorothy Terrell of Crosbyton; three sons, Duane Moore, Air Force-Germany; Derrick Williams of Richardson and Bobby Williams Jr. of Crosbyton; a daughter, Lanise Williams of Crosbyton; five brothers, Billy Joe Johnson of Marlin, Byron R. Johnson of Amarillo, Robert E. Coppage, Jr., of Crosbyton, and LaVance Coppage and Ricky Turner, both of Lubbock; three sisters, Mollie Thomas and Willis Faye Jackson, both of Crosbyton, and Deborah Hutchinson of Lubbock; and a grandson.
