Toogy WheelerGraveside Services for Oleta "Toogy" Wheeler, 72, of Crosbyton were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2006 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Patrick Lewis officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Toogy passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at her home in Crosbyton.

She was born June 10, 1933 in Crosbyton to H. E. "Pete" and Naomi C. (Reed) Marsh. On Jan. 17, 1953 she married W. F. "Bill' Wheeler in Lubbock. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1979.

Toogy graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1950. She was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church and kept the nursery for the Crosbyton First United Methodist Church. She had many hobbies, such as sewing, fishing and sports. She had received many merit recognitions for her untiring efforts promoting Crosbyton School sports. Toogy had served as assistant secretary-treasurer for Crosby County Livestock Association and Crosbyton Athletic Booster Club. She was also awarded the coveted Silver Spur award by the Crosby County 4-H in 1971. Most recently she had worked as a greeter at Walmart for three years.

She is preceded in death by a sister Melba Hines in 2001.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Pete and Linda Wheeler of Crosbyton; a daughter Bileta Wheeler of Oreland, CA; a sister; Jody Baccus of Lockney; two step brothers; Charlie Wheeler of Crosbyton, Edwin Wheeler of Raton, New Mexico; four grandchildren; Leesa and Erick Bunch both of Chico, CA, Marisha Richard of San Angelo, Rebecca Wheeler of Ft. Worth; and a great grandchild Tori Wheeler of Crosbyton.
