In a candlelight ceremony read Friday night at the home of the bride's parents, Miss Glenna Maurine Brewer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brewer and Pvt. Millard H. Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Watson, both of Mt. Blanco, exchanged wedding vows. Rev. F.M. Wiley, pastor of the Mt. Blanco Baptist church officiated.
The bride wore a gold alpeca crepe dress with brown accessories. For something old and something borrowed, she wore a watch belonging to her mother.
Vows were exchanged before a table flanked with bronze and gold chrysanthemums. Yellow candles burned in crystal candelabra on both sides of the table.
Those present were the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brewer and children, Misses Oma Lee, Viola and Melba Watson. James Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Watson, Rev. and Mrs. Wiley and two daughters.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the home for relatives and friends. The white three-tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature soldier and bride, was guarded by toy soldiers. After being cut by the bride the cake was served by Miss Oma Lee Watson, Misses Dorthy and Peggy Brewer, sisters of the bride, served hot chocolate to the guests.
The couple left immediately after the reception for Lubbock.
Mrs. Watson graduated from Crosbyton High School with the class of 42. Pvt. Watson was a farmer before he volunteered as a mechanic in the Air Corps at the Lubbock Army Flying School two months ago.
Services for Millard H. Watson, 95, of Floydada, will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Floydada First Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Sisemore and Clar Schacht officiating. Burial will follow in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Mr. Watson passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 in Lockney. He was born August 27, 1913 in Farmersville, Texas. He married Glenna Maurine Brewer November 7, 1942 in Crosbyton. Millard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Floydada and worked as a mechanic in the US Air Force during WWII. He and Glenna moved to Floydada in 1989 from Mt. Blanco, where he had farmed until his retirement in 1988.
Millard is preceded in death by his parents, James Hines and Lillie Myrtle (Martin) Watson, a daughter, Karen Crume who passed away April 29, 1969, a son-in-law, Ken Robison, two brothers; Raymond Watson, James Watson and two sisters, Iva McCurdy and Oma Lee Paul.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Glenna Watson of Floydada, a son and his wife, Dean and Brenda Watson of Floydada, a daughter, Sherry Robison of Lubbock, two sisters, Viola Green and Melba Raines, both of Lubbock, seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services for Glenna Maurine Watson, 88, of Floydada will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Crosbyton with Rev. Tom Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home.
Glenna passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011, at UMC in Lubbock. She was born June 24, 1923 in Clay County, Texas to the late James Henry and Eunice Josephine (Forman) Brewer. On November 6, 1942 she married Millard Hines Watson in Mt Blanco, Texas. She was a member at Mt. Blanco Missionary Baptist for many years where she was a Sunday school teacher and the director of Vacation Bible School. She was a former member of Crosbyton First Baptist Church, and currently a member at the Floydada Baptist Church. Glenna enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening but the most important part of her life was her family. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Hines Watson; one daughter, Karen Crume; her son-in-law, Ken Robison; and two brothers, Darwynne and Ervin Brewer.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Dean and Brenda Watson of Floydada, Texas; her daughter, Sherry Robison of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Duwayne Brewer of Irving, Texas, Harry Brewer of Benbrook, Texas; two sisters, Dorthy McDougle of Crosbyton, Texas and Peggy Ayers of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren, Deanna and her husband Troy Bigham, Amanda Schaefer, David Watson, Kris and his wife Fleur Robison, Karen Robison, Suzanne and her husband Heath Pipes, and Cherisse Robison; and ten great-grandchildren, Sage, Bridgette, Courtney, Clay, Reese, Reagan, Owen, Avery, Alyssa, and Ashley.
Serving as casket bearers will be David Watson, Kris Robison, Troy Bigham, Heath Pipes, Reese Ramsey, Clay Bigham, Charles McDougle, and Owen Robison.
