  CROSBYTON — Graveside services for Melvin "Wild Horse" Warren, 89, of Calvert will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Lester Griffin officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

He died Thursday, May 3, 2001.

He was born Nov. 1, 1911, in Seymour and married Hazel Cloud. She died in 1981. He worked for the Matador Ranch in West Texas and James Jones´ Elmwood Ranch in Calvert for many years, and was working for Allen Wiese in Calvert at the time of his death.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War, where he attained the rank of master sergeant. He had lived in Calvert for 30 years.

Survivors include a son, Leslie of Gainesville; a brother, Clyde of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Lela Crawford of Hamlin and Wilma Loflin of Anson; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
