Our beloved father, Dale Alton Vaughn, went to be with the Lord, December 22, 2003. He was born August 11, 1929 in Roaring Springs, Texas. He was 74 years old at the time of his death.
As a young man he joined the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1950.
After leaving the Navy he worked many different jobs, but mostly as a mechanic. His work took him to various parts of the United States. He lived in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Airzona and Nevada during these years. Eventually he settled in Spur, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Osmar and Hester Vaughn, his oldest brother James A. Vaughn, and a sister Veeda Fowler.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Dale Nelson of Palmer, Alaska, a son Burl Andrew Vaughn-Reynolds of Camano Island, Washington, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his youngest brother Everett Vaughn and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was laid to rest with his mother and father in Crosbyton Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2004, with the Rev. C.L. Atkinson officiating.
Arrangements were under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
