Mexican Baby Hangs Self On Car Window
A one-year old Mexican baby accidentally hung itself on the glass of a car window here Tuesday morning. The child, named Joe Tijrina, was left in the car while the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Tijrina, of Austin, were pulling cotton in a nearby field.
A window in the car had been opened slightly, and the child got its head through the opening, lost its footing and hung suspended until the parents returned. He was rushed to Crosbyton Clinic Hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The family was pulling cotton about four miles southwest of Crosbyton.
Graveside services were held Wednesday morning at Crosbyton cemetery with Rev. Lloyd Hamilton officiating. King Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
