Graveside services for Viola Coates Thompson, 92, of Crosbyton were at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 26, 2007 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with Rev. Dave Treat officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
Vi passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Crosbyton Nursing Home. She was born on October 25, 1914 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to the late Garvin and Pearl (Harris) Coates.
An active member of the United Methodist Church, Mrs. Thompson had worked as a loan officer for Commerce Bank of Abilene and later as a credit manager for a department store in Abilene. She was also a state officer for Business and Professional Women. Vi moved to Crosbyton in 1998 from Bella Vista, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by a granddaughter; Dorie Anne Butler who died on January 19, 1998.
Survivors include; a daughter and her husband, Anne and Bob Butler of Crosbyton and a nephew; Lynn Fuller of Lake Charles, LA.
