Dennis Delton Taylor of Grinnell, Iowa, a longtime resident of this area and well-known here, will be buried in Crosbyton Cemetery following 2 o'clock memorial services that afternoon in the New Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Floydada. A time for memorial services will not be learned until the family arrives, which is to be after The Review is printed.
Elder Joe Jackson of Cone is to officiate.
Another service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Grinnell.
Mr. Taylor, 60, was found dead about 1 a.m. Monday at his home by his wife. The couple had been to Cedar Rapids for an ordination service, preached by Elder Taylor. when they returned home Mrs. Taylor went to bed and upon waking found her husband dead, his body still dressed.
He retired as elder of the Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church at Grinnell and from farming after suffering heart attack about two years ago.
Mr. Taylor has served as elder of Primitive Baptist Churches in Brownfield, Artesia, NM, and Grinnell after being ordained as an elder in 1955.
He and Mrs. Taylor farmed many years in the Crosbyton Community before moving in 1966 to Grinnell. A member of the Toastmasters Club in Grinnell, Taylor was a former member of Crosbyton Lions Club and Crosby County Farm Bureau. He is a past president of the Farm Bureau in this county.
Born Dec. 2, 1919, in the Mt. Blanco Community and reared in that community, Dennis Delton Taylor was married Dec. 24, 1939, to the former Rachel Mae McClure. The couple was married in the Mt. Blanco home of the bride´s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. McClure.
Taylor was graduated from Crosbyton High School in 1937 and attended Texas Tech University.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; three sons, John R. Taylor of Grinnell, Iowa, Joe David Taylor of North Hollywood, Calif., and Tom Taylor, manager of the S-K Ranch (formerly L7) near Crosbyton; two grandsons, Michael and James Taylor of Crosbyton; and two sisters, Ozena Norris of Floydada and Ora Nell Norvell of Hereford.
He was a brother-in-law of J. H. (Hoyt) McClure and Mrs. W. B. (Connie) Allen of Crosbyton. Weldon McClure and Mrs. H. R. Cage of Floydada, Mrs. Robert L. Moss of Memphis, and Mrs. F. B. Norman of Abilene.
The boy was scheduled to have arrived in Lubbock about 7 p.m. Wednesday, although an early week snowstorm in Iowa left plans tentative. The body then will be taken to Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Adams Funeral Home will handle local arrangements.

Services for Rachel Taylor Powell, 81, of Crosbyton were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Tom Taylor officiating and the Rev. Les Griffin assisting.
Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
She died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 20, 1918, in Crosby County. She married Dennis Taylor on Dec. 25, 1939, in Mount Blanco. He died Oct. 27, 1980. She married Morris A. Powell on May 12, 1984, in Crosbyton. She attended Wayland Baptist College. She taught school in the Lakeview community, Cone and Grinnell, Iowa. She was a member of Crosby County Historical Society, Mount Blanco Club and Needlepoint Club and Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, John Taylor of New York City, N.Y., and Joe David Taylor and Tom Taylor, both of Crosbyton; a step-son, Morris Lynn of Pampa; step-daughter, Sharon Kay Bradley of Lubbock; two sisters, Martha Lou Moss of Memphis, Texas and Connie Allen of Crosbyton; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Harmony Plains Singing School c/o Cecil Richardson, HCR 3, Box 72, Hale Center, 79041.
