Thomas M. Swann Jr., 62, formerly of Crosbyton, died last week in Long Beach, CA, following a brief illness.
He was born in Shreveport, LA to Thomas Macon Swann and Mattie Graves Swann January 2, 1926. The family came to Crosbyton about 1931 to join his grandmother Mattie Swann Davis.
T.M. attended Crosbyton Schools, graduating in 1942, then joined the U.S. Coast Guard for Pacific duty. In 1946 he attended North Texas State College, graduating in August 1950.
He was employed by Armour and Company many years before forming his own food brokerage company in Dallas, Texas.
He is survived by his son, Dale Swann of Corpus Christi, TX; his daughter, Sallye Sharp and her daughter, Lindsey Dale of Irving, TX; his mother Mattie Garton, and sister, Martha Rhoads, both of Long Beach, CA.
Interment will be in the Crosbyton Cemetery at a later date.
